Student Studio '06-'07
The Student Studio Program was
created to inspire young women artists
in the Folsom and El Dorado area.
Students learn how to resolve design
problems, develop visual and spatial
skills, obtain and use the vocabulary
with understanding to converse with
others about their work. Students are
taught by a working professional artist.
In the studio students learn realistic
techniques and experiment with
materials currently being utilized in the
field.
Student Studio promotes the artists
individual skills and enhances their
technical facilities to implement
various design approaches. Young
artists gain an understanding of basic
principles in design, color theory, and
3D. All students are introduced to
various mediums such as; acrylics,
watercolor, oil sticks, pastels,
charcoal, clay, wax, wood, wire, etc.
Special Projects
The Student Studio Program is
involved with the HomeAid
Organization. The students create at
least one large piece annually that is
donated to HomeAid. The murals are
designed and painted by each
participating student. This years
painting hangs at the Vietnam
Veterans Home in Sacramento, CA.
Shows
Hart & Soul Studio in Folsom holds an
Annual Open Studio Show. Students
present over 100 original works for
show and sale to invited guests and
public. Admission is always free.
Students are informed encouraged to
participate in as many shows as
possible throughout the region.

keep a portfolio of their work. The
students at Hart & Soul's Student Studio
Program are taught how to set up
lighting and take photo’s of their work.
Once a year, annual student’s work is
transferred to a DVD/CD. Artists are
then welcome to copy as many as they
like for friends, family, teachers, and
galleries.
