| Hart & Soul Studio was proud to present "Exciting Freedom" to the Veterans Hall, November 11th 2005 as part of our annual contributions to HomeAid. Exciting Freedom was produced as a labor of love from the Student Studio Program. Ten participating students from 9 - 18 years of age collaborated over 150 hours to complete this project. The painting of the Sacramento Capitol Building has been conceived, rendered and painted in a modern impressionistic style. Students first constructed the canvas framing, stretched the canvas and finally gessoed the piece. Then came the pain staking task of scaling the original photograph and transfering it to the canvas by hand. Each artist worked for weeks changing the forms of the man made structure into positive visual language exploding with color and excitement. The result is a beautiful cohesive painting filled with life, just as the students see our world. We hope you do as well, enjoy!
